Have you ever been to a tattoo convention and wondered how the artists booked their appointments and selected their canvases for the show?
With large touring tattoo conventions such as the Ink Life Tour tattoo and music fest, many celebrity and reality TV tattooists are on the floor sharing their talent. If only you knew before you showed up, you too could have booked with a world-renowned artist and used your visit for a killer piece of body art.
According to Ragen St. Peter, founder of the traveling Ink Life Tour, "The best bet is to show up early Friday with a weekend pass, take your time and browse the portfolios (don't forget to have a beer) when you find an artist you like speak with them about what you want. They will then schedule you for sometime that weekend if they cant do it right then."
Convention details vary and artist scheduling will as well, so be sure to check out the updated convention calendar and find the website for the events you are interested in and contact the planners and artists accordingly.
Ink Life Tour will be back on the road, February 2013 starting in Amarillo, Texas, and will be hosting some of the hottest tattooing talents, including Season Two Ink Master winner Steve Tefft and talented co-stars Clint Cummings and Sarah Miller, and even LA Ink's very own Amy Nicoletto. Check out the Ink Life Tour website here for more show dates and information.
