Lovetta Wagner was a inkless tattoo artist. Do you trust her? Her mother Maud Wagner was America's first well-known female tattooist. She learned the craft in the circus and trained her daughter well. While Lovetta grew up amongst a circus of tattooed people, she rebelled and stayed free of ink for a lifetime. While 35% of voters in my Judging a Tattoo Artist by Their Cover said "NO- you do not below in my world if you do not have tattoos," Don Ed Hardy would disagree. He raised his sleeve for Lovetta Wagner's art and has a piece of inked history from someone who clearly belongs in this world even without her own personal tattoos. After all, she was born into it.
