Welcome to the studio, have a seat. Why are you checking me out? I don't have any ink.
Lovetta Wagner was a inkless tattoo artist. Do you trust her? Her mother Maud Wagner was America's first well-known female tattooist. She learned the craft in the circus and trained her daughter well. While Lovetta grew up amongst a circus of tattooed people, she rebelled and stayed free of ink for a lifetime.
While 35% of voters in my Judging a Tattoo Artist by Their Cover said "NO- you do not below in my world if you do not have tattoos," Don Ed Hardy would disagree. He raised his sleeve for Lovetta Wagner's art and has a piece of inked history from someone who clearly belongs in this world even without her own personal tattoos. After all, she was born into it.
The lesson learned? Art is art. Some wear it, some draw it. Some rejoice in both.
