Even some of the best portrait artists in the world won't touch color because it can make a great tattoo suddenly look fake or cartoonish. That is not the case with Nikko at Ignition Tattoo in Apple Valley, California. Nikko not only does some of the best portraiture in the business, but he does a lot of them in color like this one here. His gallery is really something to behold. [p] The owner of this tattoo is my favorite collector, Bob Weisz. Bob has extensive tattoo work that he has traveled all over the country for, settling for nothing but the best for each and every one of his tattoos. Unfortunately, Bob - who usually opts for wildlife tattoos - was in search for the perfect portrait artist for this tattoo to memorialize his nephew, Brian, who died of a drug overdose in September of 2006. Bob is understandably saddened by the loss of his nephew, but wanted to use this as an opportunity to spread awareness about the dangers of drug use.
