In recent news, a North Carolina ink-fiend mother named Odessa Clay has been arrested for tattooing her eleven year old daughter. Ironically the name Odessa means "place." She has certainly placed her name on her child's body and now she is serving some time.
Many thoughts come to mind.
First, why on earth would you tattoo anyone within the likely unsanitary and unequipt conditions of home?
Second, I wonder if it's a mark of territory, where a mother wants to simply brand her child first before anyone else in the world can make their mark.
Last, I wonder if it's pure neglect and unconcern for the future and livelihood of your own flesh and blood.
I couldn't do it. Could you? VOTE! What's your thoughts? VOTE!
