Angelina Jolie Image courtesy Getty Images Action star Angelina Jolie wins leading-lady for bearing the most coveted and replicated female celebrity tattoos. Her interesting and worldly choices are simple and refined. Angelina's lower back sensuously showcases one of her hottest tattoo designs, an entwined Asian tiger and dragon. Moving up her left arm, Jolie affirms the Tennessee Williams quote, "A prayer for the wild at heart, kept in cages". She also wears the Arabic translation for "strength of will" on her right arm. Below her neck, Jolie has the script "Know your rights." Paying tribute to her late mother Marcheline Bertrand, Angelina tattooed the letter "M" on the palm of her hand. In addition, she's either redesigned or covered seven tattoos, changing some to instead mark the birthplace latitude coordinates of her children. Jolie also covered a tattoo that depicted the Japanese symbol for death, with Buddhist Sanskrit symbols in honor of her son Maddox. 2. Rihanna Image courtesy Getty "I really like hanging out in tattoo shops," once confessed pop star Rihanna. If you take a good look at her, you can tell. Best known for her trendy "Shhh" index finger tattoo that was quickly copied by both Lindsay Lohan and Lily Allen, Rihanna has fourteen tattoos, most of which are easily concealed. In addition to her finger tattoo, Rihanna seems to place small and meaningful symbols wherever inspiration suits. She has a few music notes on her feet, a Pisces astrological symbol behind her ear, a Sanskrit prayer, star tattoos, an Arabic phrase on her ribcage, a skull, the word "Love", a tribal symbol on her hand, a falcon above her foot and a gun tattoo on her side. Her designs are much like little charms and treasures. If you need suggestions for inspiring verse tattoos, be sure to visit here. 3. Megan Fox Image courtesy Getty Images While Megan Fox may be best known for her Angelina Jolie inspired looks and her role in the action film the Transformers, she also has a few infamous tattoos, one of which she personally gave the boot by way of laser removal. In addition to a Shakespeare's script tattoo which reads "We will all laugh at gilded butterflies," Megan used to have a black and grey portrait of Marilyn Monroe before opting for laser removal, explaining the tattoo faded too much over time. Megan Fox has a celestial sun and moon anklet tattoo, a yin yang symbol, the Chinese character for strength, a verse about love scribed on her rib cage, and last but not least, the name Brian across her hipbone, in honor of her husband and former 90210 star Brian Austin Green. 4. Nicole Richie Image courtesy Getty Images Socialite and fashion designer, Nicole Richie also rocks a few tattoo trends. Her beaded rosary anklet continues to be a feminine, jewelry inspired way to bear the cross. In addition to her rosary, Richie has eight more tattoos, including a bow with her name last name "Richie", ballet slippers on her hip, angel wings on her back, the word "Virgin" on her wrist , a few stars, a cross, and a crowning tiara. Lady Gaga Image courtesy Getty Images Though she is edgy and fierce, Lady Gaga has a soft side and has several girly tattoo designs to prove it, including a unicorn on her thigh, an anchor , a German quote on her arm and many flower tattoos. Though a little sweet she didn't lose her edge with a more recent tattoo placement.
